Momma's BoyFrom the very beginning, Lightning had been unsure about becoming a mother. She hadn't known if she could handle it. Sure, she had taken care of Serah after both of their parents had died, but she had practically shoved her away at times. She hadn't listened, and because of that the whole l'Cie disaster happened...and now Serah was gone. She hadn't been the greatest big sister, so how could she be a mother? She hadn't looked after Hope too well in the beginning either, and he was the one that had wanted to try and have children in the first place. He never once forced anything upon her or pressured her, but rather calmly talked about it with her time and time again, promising her that she would be a great mom. After they had discussed it thoroughly many times, and she bore a healthy son two years into their marriage.

Keep An Eye on Your BrotherIn the morning Rain Estheim smirked as he poked his head into Terrence's room, holding back his snickering as he was about to carry out his plan. He couldn't remember ever playing a prank on any of his siblings, but this was an idea that he just couldn't resist...
It had been about ten years since his little brother had crystallized after he had completed his focus. Thus, he didn't know much about Rain's artificial eye since he had the operation shortly after he had fallen into the stasis.
He quietly poked his head in, glad that he was still asleep. He made his way to his bedside, covering his right eye with his hand as he did so, and pulled a fake toy eye out of his pocket with his other hand.

First ChristmasIt was December 24th in New Academia, 523 AF. Things were rather quiet in the Estheim residence that afternoon, for only Faith and Jivana were in the house. Hope and Lightning had the holiday off of work, so he was treating his wife for a whole day and night away from the house. They would be back Christmas day to have quality family time, but Lightning was still partially against it.
Rain and Faith were both mature responsible kids, she knew that much, but she was wary about Rain and Jivana being unsupervised. She had only just barely warmed up to their relationship, and who knows what would happen if they were alone under the same roof. They had allowed her to stay with them once she decided to come to this unfamiliar time, but mainly because she was a couple years away from becoming a legal adult.

RainstormIt was quiet within the Estheim residence. Lightning had been spending a rare moment of peace and quiet carefully taking apart and cleaning her gunblade bit by bit. Hope was in his study, finishing up his work. Their young two-year-old daughter had recently been put down for a nap, and their five year old son Rainstorm had gone out to play with the other neighborhood children. The streets were quiet and safe, and he knew better than to wander off too far so she didn't worry about him.
She soon had become so focused on the task at hand that she failed to notice when it began to rain outside. A few minutes later, the front door swung open to reveal a sopped Rain, who looked rather annoyed.
She looked up when she heard the door open, then sighed as she stood up and got him a clean towel from the bathroom. This wasn't the first time this sort of thing had happened.
